GLP-OECD
Laboratory compliant with GLP - OECD principles
The Accreditation Program for Laboratories/Facilities following GLP - OECD Principles was launched in 2024. This is an accreditation program by the National Accreditation Bureau (BoA), developed in response to the practical needs of society. The program is designed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011 and applies the principles of GLP - OECD to assess the competence in conducting quality research and testing practices of Laboratories/Facilities.
The National Accreditation Bureau implements the OECD - GLP Laboratory/Facility Accreditation Program with a network of well-trained lead assessors and technical assessors who meet international standards, possess deep professional expertise, and have extensive practical experience. The technical assessors in this program are selected from specialized regulatory authorities, universities, research institutes, and reputable Laboratory/Facility follow GLP - OECD.

Accreditation benefit
- Ensure that laboratories/facilities meet specific requirements in accordance with GLP - OECD principles when conducting non-clinical safety testing on chemical substances and products such as plant protection products, cosmetics, herbal products, health supplements, veterinary drugs, food additives, animal feed additives, and industrial chemicals.
- Enhance the technical and management capacity of laboratories/research and testing facilities.
- Facilitate international recognition of research and testing results conducted by laboratories/facilities operating under GLP - OECD principles.
- To integrate the laboratory accreditation activities of Vietnam with those of regional and international countries

Accreditation criteria
The OECD - GLP Laboratory/Facility Accreditation Program uses the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (as revised in 1998) as the accreditation criteria.
Accreditation fields
1. Physical-chemical testing
2. Toxicity studies;
3. Mutagenicity studies
4. The environmental toxicity studies on aquatic and terrestrial organisms
5. Studies on behavior in water, soil and air; bioaccumulation
6. Studies to determine pesticide residues in food or animal feedstuffs
7. Studies on effects on mesocosms and natural ecosystems
8. analytical and clinical chemistry testing
Types of chemicals/chemical products are covered by the OECD Principles of GLP include:
i) pesticide products;
ii) cosmetic product;
iii) veterinary drugs;
iv) food additives;
v) feed additives; and
vi) industrial chemicals
Depending on the jurisdiction, the Principles of GLP may also be applied to non-clinical safety testing of other regulated products, such as medical devices
